Artist’s Statement:

I chart fragments of a wider world, taken from my immediate environment. Unlike Kiefer’s sense of the “heroic” in art.

My notion of site is one of the “intimate”, of contact with human presence.

The transitory nature of objects and places represented, support potential for reflection. Images which hover between memory, imagination and fact begin with chance encounters with everyday objects, buildings and places – I elevate the discarded and overlooked.

My work operates within the ambiguity of fact or fiction – representation and recognition, and embodies notions of absence and presence.
